Clayton Guiltner is a freelance theatre director, acting coach, and Assistant Professor of Theatre in Acting and Directing, at Southern Arkansas University. Clayton is a hard working, disciplined artist who has exceptional leadership skills. With a Master of Fine Arts in Directing, a Master of Arts degree in Leadership, and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre, he has a proven track record in producing quality theatre both professionally and on the academic level. Clayton’s attention to detail and ability to lead teams has awarded him many successful productions, while making positive lasting impressions on those with whom he has worked.
Some of his recent directing credits include, The Hairy Ape (Sanguine Theatre Company, New York City), The Bear (Bridge Theatre, New York City), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park), Same Time, Next Country (Chashama Theatre, New York City), I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change and Lend Me A Tenor (Southern Arkansas University), Is He Dead? (University of Oklahoma), The Music Man (Southern Nazarene University) Guests for Dinner (The William Inge Theatre), Into The Woods (Muskogee Little Theatre), and Panda (Triad Theatre, New York City).
Clayton has several professional training credits, including master workshops in voice and movement and youth theatre from The American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco and the ACTER organization based in London. As a director and acting teacher, Clayton maintains creative activity, and recently attended preview rehearsals at The Mint Theatre in New York, as a guest of Artistic Director Jonathan Bank, as well as The Actor's Studio in Los Angeles, California as a guest observer of veteran television and film director Lou Antonio. Clayton is a proud associate member of The Stage Directors and Choreographers Society and is Production Editor for The Voice And Speech Review for the Voice and Speech Trainers Association.
